Oh hello again, world!

Now that Grassroots Pantry is up and running, it’s time to get the blog started again! I’m Miya, and I’m a new and very proud member of the GP team. I grew up on a small family farm in California (which my family still owns and operates! Kishi Brothers Farms grows almonds, sweet potatoes, and peaches in a little town called Livingston), and moved to Hong Kong from NYC about two years ago. As someone who cares deeply about sustainability, healthy food systems, nutrition, and creating a collaborative community, I am thrilled to be a part of GP - a haven for the proliferation and dissemination of those very values.
We want Grassroots Pantry to be your place - your place to eat truly delicious, honest food; to learn more about how to consume consciously; to meet people who want to make the world better in ways small and large; and to exchange knowledge about how to make our bodies, our communities, and our planet healthier. Please come see us; nourish yourself with our yummy food made with the very best organic, local produce; sign up for our cooking classes and workshops; and be a part of making this a place for all of us to come together, share, and grow. Oh, and follow us here! We’ll be posting more often now - updates on all things GP, interesting food/sustainability news, and maybe some miscellaneous recommendations for music and books from our team as well (we’re kind of arts nerds too. Surprise!). Next up, we’ll have a post from one of our incredible summer interns - current students or recent graduates of Canadian International School who chose to be a part of GP because they share our passion for good food and healthy food systems - so stay tuned! Thank you for all of your support and love. We are truly grateful <3
